Port Pots
The pots referred to as 'Port' were made in Port Macquarie, Australia by The Orchid Pot Company. These pots were designed by a group of orchid growers from around the region. It was intended to produce a range of pots to suit most of the requirements of orchid growers everywhere. The pots produced were of such high quality and so well accepted that they became regarded around the world as the best orchid pots made.
The range of pots goes from seedling tubes of 60mm dia , through squat and deep pots right up to 300mm dia specimen pots. There is also square slatted Vanda pots; round basket pots originally aimed at hydroponics and clear pots for Phalaenopsis. . Summing up this is a very good range of high quality pots suitable for most orchid growing situations. The Orchid Pot Company ceased production in June 2024.
